West Nyack Girl Scout Goes Gold

Helps local breast cancer patients, awarded honors

West Nyack's Rachel Broudy, a member of Pearl River Troop 40578 Girl
Scouts Heart of Hudson, was recently awarded the Girl Scout Gold Award.

Broudy earned the accolade through her "Pillows in Pink" project, which raised money to create and decorate heart-shaped pillows for breast cancer patients at .

“I wanted to help breast cancer patients feel more comfortable,” Broudy said.

The Gold Award is given to scouts between the ages of 14 and 18 who demonstrates leadership, organization and active citizenship within their community.
