Despite the dreary skies and gusty winds, more than 132 golfers putted the day away at the Rockland Country Club in Sparkill on May 13 to help raise funds to improve service for patients in Nyack Hospital’s emergency department.   More th

OTOH. I wonder how many of these unfriendly ungrateful politicians will tell their rate payers atRead More this "issues conference" that if the plant is not built, the $45 Million spent on a plant mandated by the DSC will be added to their water bill. And they will have no water to show for it. If they are successful in delaying and then stopping the plant the cost will be even greater, perhaps $60 million, and still no water. This little tidbit was left out of their bought and paid for analysis. Do you think it was a fair analysis without including this little fact?

With people like Diviny on the Orangetown Board attacking good companies like United Water is itRead More any wonder why Lederle and its successors abandoned Orangetown in such a large way? If this plant is rejected by unfriendly ungrateful politicians because they cannot handle politicuans in their own political party from selling out to the BLOC vote, it will serve them right if United Water bolts Rockland, a distinct possibility if they lose $45 million because of reasons other than doing not their jobs supplying pure clean water to our ungrateful taxpayers. This issuse conference is a bought and paid for WITCH HUNT. It will do nothing but delay this project, costing rate payers even more for their water, which the DSC has mandated. Attacking this company is a cowardly disgrace.

Ryan, I read that but if you read what I wrote, Diviny's reason for rejecting this project has ZERORead More to do with whether or not Desal works properly, or the cost of it. Nor does he suggest that we do not need the water. His objection to the Desal plant on which UW, a huge taxpaying, job creating, philantropic excellent corporate citizen who has already expended $45 Million on a plant mandated by the DSC, is to block the expansion of real estate projects by the Hasidim. So Ryan, no matter what Mike Pointing said, it would not matter since Pointing has no control over Hasidim expansion. Getting his "side" was a waste of time and an insult to him and United Water. Diviny should be ashamed of himself.

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
