Tuesday: Tappan Zee Bridge Talk at Nyack High School

Residents can meet design-build team for first time.

Residents of the Nyacks will have a chance to talk with the professionals behind the new Tappan Zee Bridge this Tuesday night.

The span's design-build team will be fielding questions at Nyack High School on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.

Residents have met with state officials in the past concerning the new Hudson crossing—which is expected to cost over $3 billion—but this is the first chance to talk face-to-face with the team directly involved with the span's design and construction.

"From the inception of this project, one of our key directives has been for all involved to make the design-build process as transparent as possible," said New York State Thruway Authority Chairman Howard Milstein last week.

The team, Tappan Zee Constructors, will be joined by officials from the Thruway Authority and Governor's office.

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
