Nyack Charges Several With Disorderly Conduct

Here's a look at the smaller proceedings and discussions from the Nov. 17 meeting:

  • Seven individuals appeared in Nyack Justice Court on Nov. 17 to face disorderly conduct charges. Another woman was fined $50 for bringing her dog to a Streetfair.
  • The village has sent out an invitation to possible bidders regarding a . The system would alert residents—either by phone, text and/or other methods—in the case of dangerous weather, bear sightings, etc.
  • Nyack is inching closer to having its own Police Athletic League (PAL), said trustee and mayor-elect Jen Laird-White.
  • The village will hold a public hearing on on Dec. 8. The issue in ongoing, and a "good neighbor" policy between businesses and police enforcement have proved ineffective.
  • ? The Park Commission will discuss the possibility on Nov. 30 and pass a recommendation on to the village board.
