Low-Hogan Appointed to County Committee

Legislator will head Government Operations Committee

County legislator Nancy Low-Hogan, a Nyack resident who represents District 17 and once served on Orangetown's town council, has been appointed chair of Rockland County legislature's Government Operations Committee by legislature chariwoman Harriet Cornell.

The committee studies government operations in an effort to increase productivity and effectiveness.

"Legislator Low-Hogan’s past experience in town government ensures an easy transition for this committee," said chairwoman Cornell. "She has firsthand knowledge of how government should function. Her skilled leadership and professional administrative experience will undoubtedly be a great asset to this committee and our legislature."

Low-Hogan sounded off on the committee's goals.

"The function of the Government Operations Committee is wide-ranging," she said, "and focuses on maximizing efficiency and productivity in County government operations. I can’t think of a more timely and appropriate charge that can help us address the fiscal and service challenges that face our County right at this moment. I thank Chairwoman Cornell for this appointment and I look forward to working with my fellow Committee Members on this important Committee."

Low-Hogan plans to hold the first committee meeting Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 6:45 p.m.
