Man Passing Through South Nyack Caught With 2 Pounds Of Marijuana

State Police based in Tarrytown arrested the man; he has been issued felony charges.

A man passing through South Nyack yesterday was arrested by State Police based in Tarrytown and charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree and driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Police pulled over Ivan Erchak—a 36-year-old resident of Buskirk, NY—after he committed a traffic violation in the northbound lane of I-87 in South Nyack. After investigating, police found Erchak was impaired by drugs and in possession of two pounds of marijuana valued at approximately $3,000.

Erchak was arrested, arraigned in Clarkstown Court, and placed in Rockland County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Erchak will appear in South Nyack Court on Sept. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
