Murder-Suicide Shocks Community, and a Somber Memorial

This week's news is grisly, sentimental and Italian:

On Tuesday night, authorities in Cross River, NY came across a grisly, "impossible to characterize" crime scene—a man in their home before turning a shotgun on himself. Police are continuing to investigate the murder-suicide, and at a mid-week press conference.

West Nyack family the Zwynenburg's found solace in Thursday morning. The Libyan dictator—who was killed by home-grown revolutionaries—was responsible for 29-year-old Mark Zwynenburg's death in 1988; Gadhafi masterminded the Pan Am airline bombing that killed close to 300 civilians.

Thursday also marked the 30th annual Brinks Memorial, which paid tribute to the two local law enforcement officers and one security guard who lost their lives in Nyack battling domestic terrorists in 1981. Watch a video of the ceremony .
