New Banners To Promote Nyack

Two standards will be hung on Main Street and Broadway

Nyack residents and visitors will soon be greeted by new artwork when entering the village.

Two banners—each depicting Nyack through a panoramic photograph—will be hung above Main Street and Broadway and promote the village as a place of "history," "culture" and more. The banners are a result of efforts by the Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Nyacks, ACADA and other local organizations.

The village board, which generally charges a fee when organizations hang banners, waived the payment. The banners will be put up only when no other banners—like ones promoting street fairs—are up.

The photograph on the banner, titled "Nyack 10960," is by resident, photographer and retired OB-GYN Dr. Arnold Roufa. His wife Arlene Levine designed the banner's layout.
