Piermont's Rockland Road Bridge received special attention this past weekend.
Officials and residents gathered Saturday to unveil two new plaques that designate the crossing as part of the village's historic district.
The Piermont Historical Society is . Rockland Road Bridge was built in 1874 across Sparkill Creek, and is the only remaining stone-and-brick arched crossing of its type in the county today. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
