Free Festival To Promote Healthy Breastfeeding

Nyack and Piermont residents—along with the rest of Rockland—can stop by New City's Demarest County Park on Aug. 8 to join in.

Nyack and Piermont families will soon have the chance to take in free entertainment and snacks at New City's Demarest County Park—all the while learning more about and promoting healthy breastfeeding.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 8, is the vanguard of World Breastfeeding Week's happenings. Orchestrated and sponsored by the Rockland County Department of Health and other local organizations, the day will couple entertainment with education.

"Breastfeeding and exercise have great health benefits for both mother and baby," said Dr. Joan Facelle, Rockland County's Commissioner of Health.
