My Bonnie continues to win

Junior guard Alaina Walker of Pomona continues to play a big role on the St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team, which has won nine of its last 10 games.

Walker scored a career-high 18 points for St. Bonaventure in a 67-63 victory over Sacred Heart Tuesday, running the Bonnies' record to 13-2.

Walker, who starred at Albertus Magnus, is second on the team in rebounds with 5.5 per game, and leads the Bonnies in assists with 28.

Walker is also averaging 7.4 points per game for St. Bonaventure, which is the only team in the Atlantic 10 Conference with 12 victories, and the only club in the league appearing in the Associated Press poll.

St. Bonaventure's next game is 1 p.m. Saturday at home against Duquesne.

Highlights: North Rockland’s Alex Bertolino led all scorers with 19 points while Olivia Burden added 13. Three Rams had eight points in the loss.

Game: Clarkstown South vs. Spring Valley

Score: Clarkstown South Won 64-34

Highlights: Clarkstown South sported a very balanced scoring attack as Laura Castaldo led the way with 12 points. Regina Wilson led all scorers with 20 in the loss.

 

Sport: Ice Hockey

Game: Horace Greeley vs. Nyack/Tappan Zee

Score: Horace Greeley Won 5-2

Highlights: Horace Greeley’s Oren Gatto led the way with two goals and an assist in the win. The Nyack/Tappan Zee goals were scored by Mike McGivney and Corey Aronson.
