Nyack Public Schools and the South Orangetown Central School District both made the decision Tuesday morning to go with early dismissal schedules due to the winter storm warning.
The National Weather Service issued a storm warning calling for up to eight inches of snow today. The warning will be in effect from noon Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday, with the heaviest snow expected this afternoon.
Nyack Public Schools will no be running any private or parochial school buses today.
Clarkstown Schools will also dismiss early Tuesday. Pearl River and Nanuet Schools announced by 6 a.m. that they would be closed for the day.
The dismissal times for Nyack Public Schools are as follows:
- Nyack High School at 10 a.m.
- Nyack Middle School at 10:30 a.m.
- All elementary schools at 11 a.m.
- Tappan Zee High School at 11:15 a.m.
- South Orangetown Middle School at 10:37 a.m.
- William O. Schaefer Elementary at 11:15 a.m.
- Cottage Lane Elementary and Tappan Zee Elementary at 12:15 p.m.
