This workshop is an examination of the special legal & financial
challenges and unique opportunities for the LGBT community!
The persistent lack of Federal recognition of LGBT partnerships
creates widespread disadvantages for all members of the
community, regardless of ones relationship status or economic
position. The introduction of State-level recognition via
Civil Unions, Domestic Partnerships and state-specific Marriages
has further complicated and convoluted the protections offered to
all members of the community.
During this unique event, Steven W. Schmitt and Kyle D. Young of
the Schmitt-Young Investment Group , will team with a local estate
planning attorney, to help clarify and define the protections
extended due to each of these marriage substitutes. In doing so,
they will highlight several of the critical legal & financial
challenges facing LGBT individuals while offering techniques to
reduce or fully eliminate each challenge. In addition, this
discussion will be combined with speakers covering the current
state of varying areas of the financial markets.
