Helen Hayes Hospital announces a new schedule for its Spinal Cord Injury/Amputee Support Group.  The group will meet on the third Wednesday of every month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the second floor dining room at the physical rehabilitation hospital in West Haverstraw.

The schedule for the remainder of the year is as follows: August 15th, September 19th, October 17th, November 21st and a group holiday party on December 19th.

The support group is open to individuals living with a spinal cord injury or amputation, along with their families, friends and caregivers. Meetings often feature a guest speaker and there is always an open general discussion followed by time for questions and answers.

For individuals who cannot physically attend meetings, there is the option of participating via webcast.

For more information on attending or utilizing the webcast, call Matthew Castelluccio, Spinal Cord Injury Patient Mentor at 845-786-4950 or email at castellucciom@helenhayeshosp.org .

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
