Road Work: PIP Ramp To Westbound Route 59 Closed

If you use Exit 8W from the southbound Palisades Interstate Parkway to Route 59 in Nanuet, you'll need to make some travel adjustments on Thursday.

The state Department of Transportation says the ramp on the southbound parkway will be closed form 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance work.

Motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour and are advised to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particularattention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers.

And, the State Police also have a reminder: Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work ZoneSafety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could resultin the suspension of the driver’s license.
