Potholes: Where Are They in Nyack and Piermont?

Wednesday was the first day of spring, which means it's pothole season -- post here to let local officials know where the worst are in your neighborhood.

One of the great reliables of living in the Northeast is pothole season and the village's streets have still taken a beating this year despite the fact that Old Man Winter seemed to take the season off.

Potholes appear when the pavement cracks, moisture builds up in the crack and then freezes and thaws. It's a problem that the Nyacks and Piermont really can't avoid, except for perhaps when experiencing a winter like we did this year, with only one major snow storm.

Potholes can be a year-long problem but are especially noticable in the spring after streets are plowed and sanded over the winter.

Do you have bad potholes in your neighborhood? Post the locations here and if you can, snap a picture and upload it here too (but be safe while taking pictures!). Local officials can't fix what they aren't aware of, so a running list of potholes can help them locate problem spots.
