Leadership demands candor and clarity of purpose. Together, we are strong enough to handle it. Brace yourself. Let's say what needs to be said right now, with all candor and clarity of purpose. We were led to slaughter and this local election was a bloodbath. No excuses will undo it. What first needs to change is the incessant, closed minded group think, aversion to change, unwelcome attitude to new ideas and cliquish, exclusive attitudes by the few, who abandoned the very principle of inclusion, creative thinking and rebellious spirit, that founded the Grand Ole' Party in the first place. It proved to be an unwise practice, whose remedy is clear.
A well thought out plan of action commanded by leadership that believes sincerely in Republicanism, who will walk through fire with a gasoline can if necessary to deliver on it, is what we lacked most yesterday, and need most today.
your comment " If you did some research on Vincent Reda(not Neda) you would most certainly change you mind about the blogger's comments. " mine "you also do not know "about" vinnie reda.do some research and get back my comment clearly states,as yours does, that research will result in finding out what is important to know about REDA and insinuates, like yours does, that marks comments was made with little to no knowledge of Reda, and he therefore should not be defending anyone he does not know and has no clue about. what is your agenda is the question.

http://newcity.patch.com/blog_posts/puppet-on-a-string Political commentary even if it holds a person in political office up to ridicule is given extremely wide leeway in the U.S. legal system. Just look at Jon Stewart's Daily Show or SNL. Finally, I have received letters threatening legal action - that's all that they are - threats. You see none of these characters would bring a lawsuit in which they would have to submit to a deposition under oath. They might try to do so to cause a person financial expense and then drop the case but there are some of us who have high powered pro-bono attorneys just dying to get these people into a deposition process. Mr Reda may shortly find himself in court over his recent voice vote election to be Chairman of the local Republican Party. Until we get rid of the cronyism, patronage, decision-making behind closed doors the citizens of Rockland will be milked dry by overpaid unions, pension costs, and politicians who think that a solution to our fiscal problems is to raise County Taxes by 18% and Town taxes (Clarkstown) by over 6% while voting for a 'local law' to override a State mandated tax cap of 2% which Clarkstown's Board intends to do tonight. So if you know nothing about these politicians come to the Clarkstown Board meeting tonight.
the only way you could possibly even think anything i said was anything but an innocent suggestion is if you already knew what someone would find which would still not be slanderous or character assassination if it was true. i anxiously await your quote of my comment on this article that you perceive as character assassination or slander or both.please do not disappoint me. back up what you said.
Stephany - Read your prior comments ( i.e. "I thought that was a coat"). I would never give you my address. Why would I want you to show up at my doorstep. Michael N. Hull - The legal definition of slander is "defamation by oral utterance," the common definition is "a malicious, false and defamatory statement or report." Anyway, this is my last comment. I am withdrawing from the "Patch." It appears to be nothing more than a community bulletin board that encourages disparaging remarks and personal venom. Best of luck to all of you.
Just one question before you go. Why would you wish so called cyber-bullies the best of luck? Kind of odd isn't it?
Bardonia had a small gas station there for 30 years - the developer closed it. Make your complaint to him, not me, no one was objecting to a small operation selling gas combined with a repair station that provided a wonderful service to residents here who could drop their cars off in the morning for repair on their way into NY City. That WAS a great help but now it will disappear. Even if Bardonia residents had not objected to the QC it would not have been built in time to have been of any help during Sandy. So forget about it. The developer is free to develop the site any way he wishes within the zoning code that pertains to that site - light shopping. As to your friends in the PBA I am also very appreciative of the work they do (as I am of the nurses in Nyack hospital who do even more difficult work). I too have police friends, I knew two of the former police chiefs, there are several officers attending my church and I have two neighbors who are police officers .... they know my opinion .... we can't afford them .... eventually there will have to be cuts. Better to keep costs under control and employment high than to let everything slide down a road to disaster. Good luck at the Board meeting tonight.
slander, cyberbullying, or personalattack Noun personal attack Making of an abusive remark instead of providing evidence when examining another person's claims or comments. that is NOT abusive or a personal attack, but it is a pretty darn accurate comparison. it looks like a rug and is completely inappropriate for a man of his age and making his money and while it is his choice to wear a really bad piece, it would be unrealistic to not expect people to comment on it. it is done all the time. people in public spotlight [by choice] should not expect to be treated the same as private citizens. lose the rug and lose the comments.
First you tried to defend a blatant patronage appointment by saying that I was "fundementaly (sic) confused about the third party system and basic civics." I will let readers review the article in which you made this comment and come to their own conclusions ... http://newcity.patch.com/blog_posts/the-highway-departments-doo-wop-dance Now you say <<<we have no concept how NYS politics work >>> Really? If the local Republican Party can't find a candidate to run for the minor political position of Town Supervisor (2009) AND when a Republican does run (2011) and is not supported by the Reda faction, then the leadership as represented by Reda is moribund as is the local party. Why did the Reda faction support Democrat Gromack in the 2009 Supervisor's Election? That is called destruction of a vibrant democracy. Why did the Reda faction not support Republican Candidate, Ralph Sabatini, in the 2011 Supervisor's election? That is called betrayal. Why did the Reda faction "re-elect" Reda by a voice vote when properly registered Republican committee people asked for a vote by ballot? That is called voter supression. Why did ...... oh why bother .... I'm just talking to myself. I learned long ago not to play in games that I believe are fixed or rigged. And therefore I will remain a RINO until we get changes. Get used to it!
1. Mr. Gromack received the republican endorsement in convention when he first ran because Councilman Ralph Mandia nominated him and gromack beat teddy dusanenko in convention. 2. In 2009 No republican stepped forward 3. 2011 Sabatini beat john miele in the republican convention to run for supervisor You’ve changed your comments now to the reda faction. What does that even mean? It’s the republican committee. It’s not up to one man im glad you’re finally acknowledging that. 4. The voice vote was because there were over 400 committeemen present at the 2012 re organization meeting and to have a roll call vote would have taken hours. The majority wanted a voice vote. When a motion is made for a roll call the cmtee then votes on that, it doesn’t automatically happen. The Anthony mele faction had approximately 25 people in attendance and it would have been ridiculous to have a roll call. He had already lost miserable in the Ramapo Rep convention earlier that evening. Don’t believe there hype, It wasn’t even close.
1. We are Republicans NOT Democrats. 2. Your "explanation" is the same to say the CEO of Coca-Cola urges the sale of Pepsi so there will be less Pepsi on the Shelf and good for Coke. 3. I will make it clear. Mr. Reda has been cutting back room deals for decades to the detriment of the Republican Party, Sir. 4. You are free to vote for all the Democrats you choose on any other line but the Republican line. There is zero credibility in the line of logic Mr. Reda has dishonestly engineered. 5. As far as fighting on the field of battle Sir, it is never done by surrendering the flag to the opponent without putting up a fight in the first place. 6. My Republican credentials are impeccable Sir. I put my money where my mouth is. I ran two campaigns slandered and libeled by the establishment consistently for nothing more than having the temerity to fight for our community as a whole. 7. Additionally, we believe fair elections by contesting candidates are to be decided by secret ballot and not a screaming match or fabrications. 8. I respectfully disagree with your justification and invalidate any such notion to ever be considered by Republicans, because it contradicts the meaning of 'Republicanism." Thank you.
We are Republicans. We believe in the Bill of Rights. Free speech and most especially Free Political Speech has been guaranteed by the blood, life and limbs of every American soldier since 1776 to present day. You may disagree with Mr. Hull but please never, ever suppress by demand, silence of anyone on the grounds you just stated. I disagree with you on this openly, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it, Sir.
I nominated Joe Carvin in the spirit of party unity out in the open for solidarity. Setting aside my personal opinion, because that is what is expected of leaders and party leadership. Whom I vote for or not vote for in the privacy of the voting booth is my personal business and not yours or anyone else's. MY vote must be earned. It is not freely given or blindly entrusted Sir. I hope you respect the sanctity of the vote as much as I do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0uM1B5H98w&feature=relmfu Here I endorse Joe Carvin while I withdraw my candidacy in the interest of the people of the 17th Congressional District. I asked Joe Carvin to adhere to our principles and supported him, until such time, he did not. That was his choice and I made mine. I took the bold act to unify our Party: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=9_vE2h5p1Mg&feature=endscreen
I can't embarrass the Republican Party - it does that to itself. If it was fighting for principles and not for position no one could 'embarrass' it. A party that makes the arcane argument that Yularen made above, and to which Mele responded, needs to be 'embarrassed' until it starts thinking clearly. I notice a young Democrat by the name of Joesph Coe writes articles on Patch expressing his principles. http://pearlriver.patch.com/blog_posts/election-day-2012-recap-the-good-the-bad-the-illegal While I have pursued him to provide his views on patronage and he has not done so, I admire him for putting his views forward in a forthright manner. Where is the equivalent young Republican writing articles on his/her point of view? Missing in action! See the problem? With the thinking Yularen, Reda and the rest of you are espousing you are killing the Party and destroying a vibrant political process in Rockland County. Things will not improve while Reda is the face of local Republicanism. When Republican people talk about the Republicans of the Clarkstown Board as one being 'compliant' and the other being 'trouble' we have a problem. As to Akin - your reference being I presume that I would say "women who are victims of what Akin called "legitimate rape" rarely get pregnant" shows that you are incapable of rising to the point of foolishness from you present position of imbecility. That is why I can't embarrass you - you do that to yourself!
<<<As to Hull I still say he is embarrassing us>>> Music to my ears!
