County Judge Sets Schedule for Stephen Baldwin to Pay Up

A Rockland County Judge is asking actor Stephen Baldwin to cough up the rest of money he owes New York State.

Though the youngest Baldwin brother has paid $100,000 of the $400,000 he owes in state taxes—Judge Charles Apotheker said he better start paying more, The Journal News reports.

Baldwin, 47, took a plea deal earlier this year to avoid jail time after failing to file state income taxes in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He pleaded guilty to one count of repeated failure to file personal income tax returns, a class “E” felony.

Baldwin, a resident of Upper Grandview, was asked to pay the remaining $300,000 within a year, however he hasn’t made any additional dents in his debt in the last three months, according to The Journal News.

He’ll get a conditional discharge if he pays the money within a year, or he can pay it back in five years while being on probation.

Apotheker said he wants one third of the amount paid within the next three months.
