W. Haverstraw Man Indicted In Nyack Bar Fight

Victim needed 50 stitches after being hit in the face with a beer bottle.

Alfredo Sanchez, 31, of 35 Zugibe Court, West Haverstraw, has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury in connection with a beer-bottle attack on another man at a Nyack bar.

Sanchez is accused of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon as a result of an April 29 incident at Bourbon Street, 132 Main St., Nyack. Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said Sanchez was at the bar and the victim attempted to make “small talk” with him.

However, Zugibe said Sanchez smashed the victim in the face with a beer bottle, and the victim had to be rushed to Nyack Hospital for treatment that including 50 stitches to close a wound.

Sanchez was later arrested on a warrant.
