Two-Car Crash Slows Rt. 9W Traffic

No one hurt as cars collide on Sixth Avenue

A two-car crash on Route 9W in Nyack slowed traffic in the area of Nyack Hospital for about 30 minutes this morning.

The crash involving a sedan and an SUV took place just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Route 9W and Sixth Avenue. The accident blocked the northbound lane of traffic until about 9:30 a.m. as volunteers from the Nyack Fire Department, Orangetown police officers and local tow truck operators cleared the accident from the the road.

The cars collided as one of the vehicles was turning onto Route 9W from Sixth Avenue. The sedan sustained front end damage and firefighters put down absorbent material to clean up a small spill of fluid from the car. The SUV sustained damage on the driver's side.

Neither of the two drivers in the accident needed medical attention.
