Tappan Resident, 19, Charged With DWI in Central Nyack

Police: Car moving erratically, without lights on at 3:10 a.m., pulled over on Route 59.

A 19-year-old Tappan man is charged with drunken driving after being stopped for driving erratically and without headlights on at 3:10 a.m. Friday in Central Nyack, according to Clarkstown police.

Jorge Cornielle was stopped on Route 59 by a town police officer and then failed a field sobriety test. Cornielle was taken to Clarkstown police headquarters in New City, where police said he refused to take a chemical breath test for alcohol.

Cornielle was arraigned in Town Court in New City and released pending a hearing on charges of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and several traffic violations.
