Orangetown Police Arrest 2 Men in Nyack Assault

Both suspects were released with appearance tickets.

According to Orangetown Police, two men knocked a 48-year-old Nyack resident to the ground and repeatedly kicked the victim while he was down in Nyack Thursday night.

When the two men fled the scene, the victim called police and described the suspects' 2000 Toyota SUV. Orangetown Police stopped them on South Blvd. near Nyack College. The officer saw the man in the passenger seat try to hide something and recovered a plastic bag with six Adderall pills and five Amphetamine pills which he did not have a prescription for.

Both Laquan Simpson, 22, of Nyack and [Name Withheld], 22, of South Nyack were arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Assault (a misdemeanor). Simpson was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (a misdemeanor).

Simpson and [Name Withheld} were released with appearance tickets and are due in Nyack Court June 25.

The victim suffered swelling in his face and cuts on his arm, hand and knee. He was treated at Nyack Hospital and released.
