UPDATE: New City Woman Arrested Outside Nyack Bar After Fight, Clash With Police

New Year's Eve celebrations end with 22-year-old charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest; she disputes police account of incident.

A New City woman was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest early this morning after a New Years Eve’s celebration led to a fight outside a Nyack bar, according to .

Mary C. Cipriano, 22, of 115 New Hempstead Road, was among a group of woman involved in a fight in front of the , 102 Main St., Nyack, at about 1 a.m., police said. In the process of breaking up the fight, police said Cipriano refused to comply with town officers and charged at the security staff of the Pour House several times in an attempt to get back inside the bar.

Police said Cipriano became combative and violently struggled with town officers as they attempted to handcuff her. Cipriano was arrested and taken to Orangetown police headquarters in Orangeburg, where she was later released pending a Jan. 31 hearing in .

In a published report, Cipriano disputes the police account of the incident, saying that she was attacked as she was waiting to get her coat and that she was arrested as she tried to tell police officers she thought she had lost her phone, wallet and cash.
