Cops from All Over North America Paid Tribute to Trooper Skinner

More than 1,000 people attended services yesterday for the New York state trooper killed in the line of duty by a Florida man who ran him down on the side of I-81.

At the First Baptist Church in Johnson City NY, Christopher G. Skinner "was remembered as a devoted trooper, hardworking farmer, and loving father, son and brother," according to WBNG Action News.

The station also reported his mother asked them to let the public know how much his family put into the funeral service to honor her son.

In addition to his mother, Sharyn, he is survived by his sister, Air Force Major Julie Skinner-Dillon, and her husband; his brothers Shawn and Jason and their wives; two children, Kyle and Erin; his fiancé, Surrena; and her son Ethan.

He was 42.
