Susan Grunenwald, Longtime Nyack Resident

From Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville:

A long time resident of the Nyack, NY area, Susan passed away March 22, 2013 at the Nyack Hospital. Susan was born July 10, 1953 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Robert and Patricia Grunenwald.

She graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1971 and went on to study art at SUNY in Fredonia, NY.

Sue lived many years in San Francisco, where she was a professional singer, a talented artist and a budding entrepreneur, opening LeTricot and manufacturing designer sweaters. In the early 90’s, she returned to New York where she continued her career in the fashion industry, notably as a buyer for large retailers and as a sales representative for garment manufacturers. Later, she was employed by Credit Risk Monitor in Valley Cottage, NY.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia Grunenwald of Somers, NY, and her siblings, Nancy El-Hibri, Mark Grunenwald, Lynn Brill, Amy Grunenwald and David Grunenwald.

Sue was a spirited individual, an adventurer and, above all, a devoted daughter, sister and friend.
