Nyack Park Conservancy Playground Benefit Saturday

The Nyack Park Conservancy will hold a benefit to raise money for the rebuilding of the Nyack Memorial Park Playground Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Glen Iris Estate.

Proceeds from the $95 tickets and live auction go to efforts to raise $100,000 for phase one of rebuilding the playground.

Manhattan School of Music students will perform. One of the auction items will be dinner with the three mayors of the Nyack's at Nyack Mayor Jen Laird-White's house.

The playground currently has a slide and a swing set, but other equipment was deemed unsafe and removed. The Nyack Playground Committee was formed by members of the community and held a kickoff fundraiser in April. They have teamed up with the Nyack Park Conservancy.

Though the efforts to put a skate park in Memorial Park and the playground committee are separate groups, both work with the Nyack Park Conservancy. Sally Clark of the Nyack Playground Committee said the two efforts are supportive of one another.
