Growing & Aging: The Tappan Library and New York Council for the Humanities will offer a monthly reading and discussion series designed to explore questions about entering middle age, growing older, caring for aged loved ones, and finding satisfaction in later stages of life.
The series begins on Saturday, April 19 at 3 p.m. The first book in the series is Randy Pausch’s The Last Lecture. The Carnegie Mellon University Professor gave his final lecture after a diagnosis of metastatic pancreatic cancer. His topic: achieving childhood dreams and seizing every moment (because "time is all you have...and you may find one day that you have less than you think").
Books are available at the Front Desk of the library but the attendees need not read the text to participate. This program is free and open to the public but pre-registration at http://www.taplib.org is required. Please call 845-359-3877 for more information.
