Food Day Nyack 2013

Nyack will take part in the nationwide celebration of Food Day on October 24th.  Food Day is a movement toward healthy, affordable, sustainable and fair food and food policy in the US.  There will be events throughout the day in Nyack starting with booths at the Farmers Market in the morning and ending with a screening of A Place at the Table at Nyack Center in the evening.  Events at the Farmers Market will include cooking demos, information about chicken raising, mindful eating, creating edible landscapes , sugars and fats and more!  There will be a foraging walk and talk in the afternoon and an after-school kids program at Nyack Library.  Food drives will take place throughout the month at the Nyack Library and at the Farmers Market on the 24th.  For more event details visit foodday.org under the Get Involved tab and look for event schedules at Nyack Village Hall.
