Senator Schumer, Gov. Cuomo Endorse Fried

Rockland County Executive Candidate David Fried added the endorsements of New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo and United States Senator Charles Schumer over the weekend.

"David has the experience and vision Rockland sorely needs," Cuomo said. "For too long, Rockland has been headed in the wrong direction. David's experience as a (Rockland County) Legislator and judge gives him the tools to implement smart policies. With David Fried, I'll have a partner in government who will make the tough decisions to lead Rockland forward."

Both Cuomo and Schumer are Democrats, as is Fried, who is running against Republican Ed Day and Conservative Tom Sullivan. Schumer announced his endorsement of Fried Sunday in Tappan.

"David Fried has the forward thinking leadership and vision that Rockland County needs," Schumer said. "Drawing from his experience as a county legislator, Spring Valley Justice, and his work in the federal government, I ma confident that David has the tools necessary to make smart decisions for Rockland County residents and businesses and to help the regional economy grow. I look forward to a successful partnership with David Fried as Rockland County Executive."

"Rockland residents know that they have a fierce advocate for New York and the Hudson Valley in Senator Charles Schumer," Freid said. "It is critical the next county executive have positive, working relationships with our Representatives and Senators in Washington, D.C. As county executive, I look forward to working with Senator Schumer along with Senator Gillibrand and Congresswoman Nita Lowey, making sure that the needs of Rockland Conty's residents are met."
