County Exec Candidate Fried Campaigning Until The Polls Close

Rockland County Executive candidate David Fried stopped to speak with members of the community when he arrived at Spring Valley High School at around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday morning before entering the building to cast his own vote.

Once he was done submitting his ballot, Fried turned his attention back to his campaign, saying he plans to continue to pursue votes right up until the polls close at 9 p.m.

"The work is not done yet," Fried said. "We have another nine hours or 10 hours. There is a lot of work to do still. We don’t take anything for granted. I will be speaking with voters all day. I respect the fact that some people support, some don’t support and there is a large number of undecided voters, even today. The important part is for me and my team to work until the very last second convincing voters that our plans for Rockland County are best.

Fried, is running on the Democratic, Independence and Working Families lines, said the current county government approach is unsustainable and if elected, he plans to waste little time in making changes.

"I’m excited and I’m eager to get to work tomorrow morning," Fried said.  "As County Executive elect, I am going to be aggressive in making sure our government is built in a smart way, in place and ready to go on the first day Jan. 1."

Fried's opponents are Republican Ed Day and Conservative Thomas Sullivan. Once the polls close, he plans to be at Casa Mia Manor House in Blauvelt awaiting the results.
