Those walking past H&M at the Palisades Mall have noticed signs for the upcoming Uniqlo store. Uniqlo announced back in January that it plans to hire 100 full-time and part-time employees at all levels and its opening date is now around the corner: Friday, March 15.
UNIQLO, a global clothing retailer, will open its second U.S. mall location this week at Palisades Center. The store spans 24,000 total square feet and offers men’s and women’s basics, AIRism, Premium Linen, Ultra Stretch denim, UT (UNIQLO printed t-shirt collection), an array of colorful bottoms, as well as the spring kids collection, according to its press release.
“We have been training and preparing our newly hired employees for months to provide UNIQLO's high quality customer service," said Francis Spiegel, General Manager. "We know that Rockland County residents and visitors to Palisades Center of all ages will find something they love at the store.”
There will be entertainment and activities during the grand opening weekend (Friday through Sunday) including a special tote bag gift with a purchase of $50 or more to the first 500 customers each day and traditional Japanese Taiko drum performances throughout the day.
“We are thrilled to be opening at Palisades Center as we continue to execute our growth strategy in the U.S," said UNIQLO USA COO Larry Meyer. "We look forward to showing the patrons of Palisades Center our innovative products, exceptional customer service and brand philosophy.”
In celebration of the grand opening at Palisades, UNIQLO is offering special promotional pricing during grand opening week beginning Friday, March 15 and running through Sunday, March 24.
- Men’s & Women’s Japanese Engineered Denim for $9.90 (limit one pair per customer)
- Men’s & Women’s Premium Cotton T’s $7.90 (reg. $12.90)
- Women’s UV Knits and Men’s Linen Cotton Sweaters $19.90-29.90 (reg. 29.90-39.90)
UNIQLO NYC stores at 5th Ave, 34th St., and Soho, UNIQLO Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ and our San Francisco flagship store will extend the celebration by also participating alongside Palisades Center in the following promotion: Men’s & Women’s Premium Linen long-sleeve shirts $19.90 (reg. $29.90)
“Drawing on such a strong dedicated fan base from our Manhattan flagship stores, it was a natural progression to look further out into the Tri-State area for our next location," said Shin Odake, EVP of East Coast Operations. "Palisades Center offers a good space within a great mall – factors we strongly consider when looking for a new store location for our family-oriented brand."
The fun continues with an opportunity to register online at www.uniqlo.com/us/100LuckyCubes for a chance to win 1 of 100 Lucky Cubes which could contain a $1,000 shopping spree and many more prizes from UNIQLO through March 27.
This will be the company’s sixth U.S. retail location. There are currently three UNIQLO stores in New York City, one in Paramus, one in San Francisco and the seventh location comes next month at Westchester’s Ridge Hill.
