Boulders Offer Youth Baseball, Softball Camp During Easter Break

Program at Provident Bank Park a "tune up" for upcoming season.

The Rockland Boulders want to help boys and girls get ready for the spring 2013 baseball and softball season and are offering an Easter Week Tune-Up Camp at Provident Bank Park in Pomona.

The camp will allow boys and girls age 7 to 14 to learn from professional instructors and take the field at the home of the Boulders.

The camp is set run from Monday to Wednesday, March 25-27 (with a rain date of Thursday, March 28) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is supported by Hardball, NY in Elmsford and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Participants will receive lunch each day, a camp T-shirt, and six Boulders tickets for the $199 registration fee.

“Baseball season is fast-approaching and it has been a long winter for the kids too,” said Boulders owner Ken Lehner. “With local youth baseball leagues starting up, we feel this is perfect timing for them to take the field and get some top-notch instruction as well from our players and some of the area’s best instructors. If your kids want a competitive advantage in the upcoming season, this is the camp for them!”

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
