Piermont photographer Jorge Madrigal began his career as an adolescent in his home country of Costa Rica. He was taken under the wing of a renowned photo studio in San Jose, and began honing his skills in studio portraiture early in life. Later, he operated a successful retouching studio in Manhattan, perfecting the art of painting directly on transparencies to repair any photo mishaps that might have occurred during shooting, all before the advent of Photoshop! He now uses that deftness to hand-tint black and white photos, giving them dimension and an artistic touch.
Presently he owns Madrigal Studio, located in downtown Nyack. Jorge loves to travel, camera in hand. He looks for those moments in life, unexpected and emotional, when people are engaged with each other and unaware of the camera.
