Winter Weather

Hudson Valley Weather describes an interesting phenomenon on its Facebook page, saying "Getting some reports of thunder snow across the southern zones as low top thunderstorms off the ocean are pushing into the region. These bands will also cause a burst of moderate to heavy snowfall as they push through."

According to the National Weather Service, there's a chance of rain also, and then conditions will dry out.

I had to travel from Tappan to Valley Cottage and it rapidly became a very dangerous trip. While to roads were fine coming up 303, the roadbed condition went dramatically bad as soon as we crossed into Clarkstown. There were multiple accidents, cars in ditches, poles etc. Not a Clarkstown plow or spreader was in sight. Plenty of police cars attending to the accidents. Somebody dropped the ball, big time. Orangetown had brine down beforehand and few, if any problems.
