Rockland Flood Watch Begins Thursday Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Rockland County and the surrounding area from 8 a.m. Thursday until 8 a.m. Saturday.

The NWS defines a flood watch as the potential for flooding based on the forecast an suggests that those living in areas that are prone to flooding make appropriate preparations.

The forecast is calling for heavy rains with a total that could rise to five inches in that time that may result in flooding of small streams and areas with drainage issues.
