Piermont Applefest Set for Sunday

Piermont's Flywheel Park will be home to the 10th Annual Apple Fest sponsored by the Blauvelt Lions Club Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Down to Earth Markets and the Piermont Chamber of Commerce will hold Piermont's Apple Pie Contest. Competitors registered at Piermont Farmer's Markets earlier this month.

The contest begins at 11 a.m. at Piermont's Down to Earth Farmer's Market in the M&T Bank parking lot.  Judges include Down to Earth Markets Founder Miriam Hass, Piermont Chamber of Commerce President Laura Straus, Balthazar Head Pastry Chef Mark Tasker and Mack Event Productions Founder and Owner Rachel Mark. There will also be a popular vote for a people's choice award.

Admission to the Blauvelt Lions' Apple Fest is free and the event will include rides for the kids, entertainment, vendors and food.
