Grant Money Redirected to Repave Polhemus Street in Nyack

The Nyack Village Trustees approved a resolution last week authorizing the long-awaited repaving of Polhemus Street.

The grant money for the project was initially earmarked for Speer Street, but efforts to use those funds instead for Polhemus began approximately three years ago under the guidance of then Nyack Mayor Richard Kavesh.

"The previous mayor thought, rightfully, that it was a better use of that grant money on Polhemus," Nyack Mayor Jen Laird-White said. "It was a good idea that for three years has been locked in red tape."

White said that all paperwork and change orders are now in place to move forward with the project.

The full resolution can be found here on the Village of Nyack website.
