Nyack: Record Store Sale, Raffle This Saturday

Vinyl Lounge will expand their record collection this Saturday

Nyack's vinyl devotees and music junkies once had it hard—they had to wait until Streetfairs to scoop up new records, or trek to haughty music shops tucked away in lower Manhattan.

But when the Vinyl Lounge opened at 2 North Broadway in 2011, grabbing the latest Guided By Voices record, or picking up a rare Pavement relic, became much easier—and local.

And this Saturday, the Vinyl Lounge will be expanding their collection for the day, extending their hours and raffling off prizes.

"It's going to be like any other record show or fair," explained owner Matt DeGroat.  "We're going to have a couple of other vinyl dealers, and rare and collectible [records]."

DeGroat noted the dealers boast classic rock collections and several albums by The Beatles, and will have memorabilia, too.

The raffle will award winners with t-shirts and bags, DeGroat said—with an acoustic Ovation guitar being the major win.
