I am proud to call myself a resident of the river village of Nyack.  You may see me walking my two dogs along North Broadway, at the South Nyack Dog Park, or along any of the trails so close to our town.  I have been a recreational triathlete for several years and Nyack is a perfect place to swim, bike and run!

In 2013, I will be tackling the cycling event, Gran Fondo New York, which will roll through our lovely village on May 19th.  The bike race is 110 miles long with over 8,000 feet of climbing.  We will start in New York City, go to the top of Bear Mountain, then turn around and head back to New York.  Along the way, we will ride some of the steepest hills throughout Rockland County and Northern New Jersey.

GFNY has implemented a "Town Challenge" program for this year's race.  They chose one person from each of the towns that the event goes through to raise money for a charity of their choice.  I have the honor of being Nyack's "Town Challenge" participant and my charity is Hi Tor Animal Care Center.

I am looking forward to the challenge of preparing and participating in the bike race.  And I am thrilled that I can be part of raising money for such a valuable resource within our community.
