Dick (past commander of Post 373 in Nanuet VFW) extend our best wishes for a safe and movingRead More experience in Washington D.C. Someone should be recording their memories of that critical time in our history. They answered our country's call and because of them our country remains the land of the free. Thank you for your service and God bless. Just an aside, thanks to the brave moms and dads who watched their sons and daughters go off to serve for the duration of that long war.

It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

I consider Suzanne a beautiful song of love and search for redemption. Extraordinary that such aRead More prolific author, poet, composer, performer could suffer from depression and work through, as one discovers in his works. I think the lyrics, like much of his writings, is layered with meaning, allows the reader to find his/her own personal hook. I love the Jesus references, to me more profoundly eloquent than anything I've read of him in bibles and elsewhere. Yet I interpret the passages a person's search for meaning to life and finding such in the present as opposed to a wishful afterlife. The "perfect body" reference strikes me as very Buddhist. In may of his works, the stories turn to love and the women who "cared" for him, often unselfishly, with a reoccurring comfort in sexuality. The depth has gone much further, in my view, as he aged, often rewriting. He's in his late 70s and still tours, sells out 20,000 seat arenas to an audience that spans at least six decades. I think his "The Partisan" is the consummate anti-war lyrics. Harrison also found comfort and meaning in Buddhism.

to Issy: Quote: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come toRead More destroy, but to fulfill............Mathew 5.17" ------------------------------------------------------------------- Jesus IS the fulfillment of prophecy. As the Messiah, he ordained a NEW COVENANT. Those who claim that the Old Testament dictates are wholly applicable to Christians simply haven't read the NEW Testament critically. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Issy: You didn't read the whole argument. Continue Matthew 5. The new covenant (which actually began with Jeremiah 31:31) is BETTER than the written Law. Jesus begins at Matthew 5:21 each remark with "You have learned that our forefathers were told" and then he goes on to state what the Law says and then what HE says. The Law says you can divorce your wife. Jesus says you can't. The Law says don't commit adultery. Jesus says don't even look on a woman with a lustful eye lest you commit adultery with her in your heart. The Law says you must be brought to judgment for murder. Jesus says you must be brought to judgment even if you nurse anger against your brother. Jesus says: You have learned that they were told: Love your neighbor, hate your enemy, but what I tell you is this: Love your enemies and pray for your persecutors, only so can you be children of your heavenly Father who makes his sun rise on good and bad alike. You took your remark right out of a context that completely invalidated it. Thanks for making my job so easy.

to Rich Faussette: Call me slow. It was only with your penultimate response that I realized that youRead More were opposed to Liberalism because you believe it to be a Jewish plot to enfeeble white Christian society in order to ensure the survival of Judaism. Mazel tov!

So apparently only you are allowed to spin the bible and allow yourself the godly right of ignoringRead More the parts you don't like, although Jesus was very clear that the Old Testament must be followed (but don't take his word for it)................... The simple fact is that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality, yet some Christians, have no problem using the Old Testament to condemn gays............ So according to you if the OT gay bashing and the 10 commandments are not applicable to Christians how can they justify their rabid opposition to homosexuality?

Guess what, climate change is a better, more accurate term than the debunked global warmingRead More nonsense. It's occured thousands of times in the Earth's history. Both sides on this issue can agree on that, can't they? But, IMO humans didn't cause it directly, and cannot alter or stop it. The most critical negative human impact here is simple: too many people! Most of the Third World has NO access to birth control, and the vaunted UN doesn't seem to care. Even China relaxed it's stringent one-child-per-couple policy. Helping people limit their numbers might mitigate this problem. But I refuse to agree w/the Leftists Dems that we are some how to blame. Also, scientists who believe this theory make their paychecks off of scaring citizens, so they're incapable of being neutral.

Why let a story like this take up any real estate on the home page - especially after the allegedRead More fog advisory is lifted? The "new" Patch, now that they fired most of their employees, has become quite a disappointment. A sad departure from it's original hyper-local mission.

Wow! An article about nature and the lack of plowing turns into a lecture by misguided climateRead More change deniers who try to rebut mountains of evidence about climate change. Temperature extremes are signs of climate change. Guess a few of you really had cabin fever--I can relate. Maybe we can talk about the lack of effective plowing and such or we could just continue to rant about conflicting climate theories which the average Hudson Valley resident really doesn't have time to worry about!

Cal and Issy - for God's sake look out the window. It looks and feels like we are in Siberia.Read More Smelly is exactly right.... at a certain point this becomes hard evidence of global cooling rather than a temporary "weather" pattern. Sorry, you guys are drinking the Kool-Aid.

So scientists should just look out of their windows to study the world's climate rather than relyingRead More on decades of research?.......... The reason why we are having an extreme winter (as predicted by global warming) is that the Jet-stream has become unstable this season due to the warming of the Arctic. Please take the time to look at the overwhelming evidence rather than listening to talking-heads.
