St. John's Catholic Church—founded in 1852 and located on the Hudson River—provides masses, outreach programs and community resources to residents of Piermont and Rockland County.

On May 28, 1962, a fire destroyed the original church—the current church was built one year later, and in the interim period, mass was held in Piermont Village Hall. In its 150-plus years of operation, the church has had 13 pastors.

St. John's acts a social hub, hosting regular meetings for Catholic Daughters, Holy Name Society, Piermont Senior Citizens Club and AA. The church's Connelly Hall also functions as Grand View's polling facility on Election Day.

Additionally, St. John's features religious education for children, Bible study for adults, several socials and honors ceremonies for community volunteers.
