<p>Sanctuary fits perfectly into Nyack's downtown scene, selling furniture, accessories, artwork and more.</p> <p>Owner Laura Gould—a Rockland native who relocated the store to Nyack in 2009 after six years of business in Beacon, NY—makes most of Sanctuary's jewelry herself.</p> <p>Other items in the store, like clothes, are fair trade or handmade by local artisans. Some pieces are collected from around the world, like Tibetan statues.</p> <p>Gould describes her theme as "sophisticated Bohemian," and worked as an interior designer prior to helming Sanctuary.</p>
