Nyack Hospital provides emergency and acute care to residents of Rockland County and nearby communities. The hospital opened on January 1, 1900 with just nine beds. The original structure was modest — only a basement, two floors and an attic. Now, more than a century later, Nyack Hospital is a modern 375-bed, acute care medical/surgical facility with a staff of more than 650 physicians. In 2009, its team of physicians delivered over 2,000 newborns, cared for 14,000 inpatients, treated 40,000 patients in the Emergency Department and provided over 66,000 home care visits. The hospital's services include therapy and rehabilitation, addiction/recovery programs, cancer treatment, cardiology, joint replacement, maternity care, pediatrics and radiology.
