Monday, Aug. 12

  • The Chance Cosgrove Foundation golf outing and family pool party at Rockland Coutry Club in Sparkill begins with registration at 10:30 a.m. The golf tournament tees off at 12:30 p.m. The pool part is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, click here
Tuesday, Aug. 13
  • The Orangetown Council will consider items including the reappointment of Assessor Brian Kenney and the next step in an application for a transportation grant in a regular meeting 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at town hall.
  • The Village of Piermont Board of Trustees will met 7:30 p.m. in Piermont Village Hall. 

Wednesday, Aug. 14
  • A plaque will be unveiled at 6:30 p.m. at the end of Piermont Pier in Piermont commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the creation of Camp Shanks and the 68th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe. Piermont Pier was the disembarkation point for Camp Shanks. There will be an honor guard from the Tappan Fire Department for the event led by Pete Marino of the Piermont VFW.
  • Homes for Heroes will be collecting donations for veterans from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Palisades Center Mall in the parking lot near Bed, Bath and Beyond. Click here for more information. 
Thursday, Aug. 15
  • The Nyack Film Festival begins 7 p.m. Thursday and continues through Sunday at the Nyack Village Theatre. For more information, click here

Friday, Aug. 16
  • Fleetwood Macked will play in the Orangetown Summer Concert Series at Veteran's Memorial Park at 7:45 p.m.
