Monday, Dec. 23

  • The Rockland County Board of Elections is expected to certify incumbent Andy Stewart's victory in the race for Orangetown Supervisor Monday after an appeal by challenger Walter Wettje was denied Friday. 
  • Nyack and South Orangetown Schools begin their winter breaks today. Nyack Schools return Jan. 2, 2014. Classes resume for South Orangetown Jan. 6, 2014. 
  • The Pearl River and Tappan Zee boys and girls teams will run in the Spiked Shoe Indoor Track and Field Invitational at the Armory in New York City.
Tuesday, Dec. 24
  • 8 North Broadway in Nyack is offering a three-course Prix Fixe Menu at $49 per guest ($20 wine pairing) Christmas Eve. Find out more here

  • The Pearl River Holiday Track Festival begins at 8:30 a.m. in Rockland Community College's Levy Fieldhouse. The event features top competitors from Rockland and Westchester Counties as well as New Jersey. The confirmed participants as of Sunday were Albertus Magnus, Alexander Hamilton, Arlington, Beacon, Clarkstown North, Clarkstown South, Cornwall, East Syracuse Minoa, Edgemont, Eldred, Fox Lane, Hackensack, Haldane, Irvington, John Jay-EF, Monroe Woodbury, Murray Bergtraum, Nanuet, Newton, North Rockland, Nyack, Ossining, Paramus, Pawling, Pearl River, Poughkeepsie, RC Ketcham, Rye, Scarsdale, Somers, St. Francis Prep (girls), Suffern, Tappan Zee, Townsend Harris, Vernon, Verona, Wayne Valley, Westlake, White Plains and Yonkers. 
Saturday, Dec. 28 
  • Pearl River's O'Connell Wrestling Tournament begins at 10 a.m. at Pearl River High School. The tournament features many of the top programs from Rockland County and the surrounding area. The confirmed participants as of Dec. 20 were Clarkstown North, Croton Harmon, East Ramapo, Hendrick Hudson, North Rockand ,Nyack, Sleepy Hollow, Tuxedo, Woodlands and Yorktown.
