Donna Ponessa, a top-ranked US Para-Dressage rider, remains on her way to riding at the Paralympics late this summer in London.
Ponessa recently earned top scores competing at the Houston Dressage Society Spring Classic.
"Donna qualified for the 2012 Paralympic Selection Trials, and swept the Grade 1A division riding Silvano," according to a press statement.
Ponessa, of New Windsor, NY, rides Otto, the horse of West Nyack mother and daughter Sue and Kristi Niblo. The Niblos are Ponessa's longtime friends and sponsors.
Ponessa has been combating MS since the early '80s, breathes with the help of a ventilator and is paralyzed from the chest down.
Ponessa will submit her best score to the US Para-Dressage Team trials this summer.
