Tattoos for Charity in Downtown Nyack

Body Inkorporated to help ailing youngster

Gabrielle DiCarlo, a five-year-old from Tomkins Cove, is currently battling an unknown cancer—and Nyack tattoo shop has pledged to help DiCarlo beat her sickness.

DiCarlo was diagnosed on Feb. 9, 2012 and has since undergone several surgeries—some 14 hours long—to remove tumors and a kidney.

The cancer spread to her heart, but DiCarlo made it through the ordeal and will soon begin chemotherapy.

"This rare type of illness is difficult for her family to cope with emotionally as well as financially," said Dina DiGiacomo, the owner of Body Inkorporated at 122 Main Street, Suite 1, Nyack.

Body Inkorporated will hold a charitable event to help Gabrielle and her family pay off pricey medical bills on Sunday, May 6 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The staff will ink tattoos and carry out other permanent cosmetics, and also host a tricky tray and raffle. (Tricky tray tickets will be available Monday, April 30.)
