Keep Rockland Beautiful Cleans Up During PIP Closure

Members of Keep Rockland Beautiful took advantage of the closure of the Palisades Parkway southbound lanes Saturday to clean up around Exit 6.

Not everybody for the Ironman U.S. Championship.

One local group took it as an opportunity.

Keep Rockland Beautiful Project Coordinator Geraldine Collins organized a group of volunteers and board members that came out to clean up the ramps at Exit 6 in Orangeburg. KRB board members Cora Bodkin and Tom Kyle joined in the effort.

Volunteers were not allowed onto the parkway, but New York State Troopers did allow the group to clean the on and off ramps. According to one of the volunteers, Niall O'Gara, the cleanup team filled 13 bags of garbage and recyclable materials and retrieved five tires that had been abandoned at the side fo the road.

Now if we can only get the organizers of the event to cleanup after themselves. The traffic control devices and signage still lying on West Clarkstown Rd. at southbound exit 10 is truly annoying.

a lot less annoying by the campaign signs left around weeks and months after each election.

Geologists suspect major eruption, on same http://www.coachoutletonlinegg.com scale as Pompeii, is due in next couple of centuries. http://www.coachoutletonlineaol.net Keen as they were to reflect on the transience of human http://www.coachfactoryoutletwy.com existence, early visitors to the site were often decidedly disappointed http://www.coachoutletstorefc.com with the place. It was, frankly, a wreck. It looked, as one disgruntled http://www.coachoutletaol.org tourist observed, as if it had been destroyed in enemy action. Well, http://www.coachfactoryonlineest.net of course it looked like that. It had been devastated by a violent http://www.coachfactoryoutletpst.com volcanic eruption. It wasn't until the houses began to be rebuilt http://www.coachfactoryoutlettx.com and reroofed around 1900 that Pompeii became something like the http://www.coachfactoryonlinefc.org ancient city we now visit - until, that is, the http://www.coachoutletwy.com site was heavily bombarded by the Allies in World http://www.coachoutletonlineybw.com War II (in what really was enemy action.

they have begun trying to lower http://www.coachoutletmls.com expectations.Consolidated Edison, for example, tucked an especially http://www.hemesbelscq.com dire note into a news release on Thursday afternoon. It said the http://www.coachfactoryoutletion.com “vast majority” of its customers in New York City http://www.coachoutletonlinehl.net and the northern suburbs should have power by Nov. 11, http://www.coachoutletonlineef.org but a significant number could remain in the dark for http://www.coachoutletuso.net a week or more beyond that.John Miksad, the company’s senior http://www.coachfactorystorebg.org vice president for electric operations, said some “stragglers http://www.coachoutletonlinetb.com ” might not get electricity again until the middle of this http://www.coachoutlethcs.com month. Those living through the worst-case situation may http://www.coachoutletb1.com account for just a few percent of the 850,000 Con Edison http://www.coachoutletdi.org customers who lost power,
