Free Breast Cancer Screenings at Nyack Hospital

Friday's screenings made possible through grants

Uninsured and underinsured women across Rockland County will be able to receive free breast cancer exams at this Friday.

Staff will provide routine mammography and clinical breast exams; the service is made possible by a grant funded by the Cancer Services Program of the Hudson Valley Region in partnership with Nyack Hospital. Capitol One also provided funds.

Senator David Carlucci will provide free refreshments, as well.

"Breast cancer remains a serious hazard to a woman's health and well-being, thus it is critical we do everything in our ability to prevent this disease from the outset," Carlucci said. "I am excited to be co-sponsoring this event with Nyack Hospital for the second year in a row, and it is my sincere hope that more women age 40 and over will be able to take advantage of these life-saving services."

Dr. Patricia Jospeh, Director of Breast and Women’s Health Prevention Services at Nyack Hospital, noted screenings are crucial for women.
