Where to See Rockland's Best Fireworks

Fill your Independence Day with fireworks, carnivals and more

If you're looking to stay in Rockland this Fourth of July, Patch has a round-up of must-see firework shows and Independence Day bashes:

In Pearl River

  • When and Where: July 4, 9:30 p.m. on Central Avenue Field
  • Why go: This celebration features entertainment for all ages, including smaller kids rides that open at 4 p.m. and a DJ at 5 p.m. The Rockland County Concert Band will play from 6 p.m. until the start of fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

In Nyack

  • When and Where: July 4, 9 p.m. at Memorial Park
  • Why go: Enjoy the annual Fourth of July fireworks display on the Hudson River

In West Nyack

  • When and Where: July 4, 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. at (1000 Palisades Center Drive in West Nyack)
  • Why go: No fireworks per se, but enjoy music entertainment from across the country, state fair amusement rides including the Giant Wheel, Wave Swinger, Fireball and Super Loops, a petting zoo and fair food

In Nanuet

  • When and Where: July 3, 8 p.m. at Nanuet Senior High School
  • Why go: There will be music by The Sixties Show, a '60s musical tribute band. And your children will have a blast playing in inflatable bouncers. The Rockland County Radio Control Club is having a flying demonstration, as well.

In Haverstraw

  • When and Where: July 3, 9:30 p.m. at Bowline Point Park (Rain date: July 4)
  • Why go: You’ll see a beautiful firework display

In West Haverstraw

  • When and Where: July 3 at Helen Hayes Hospital on Rte 9W in West Haverstraw. This is for viewing the Haverstraw fireworks and the Croton fireworks — visible from across the Hudson River. The official start time for festivities is 7 p.m., but people have been known to get to the campus as early as 4:30 p.m. to pick out a good spot.
  • Why go: There will be food, face painting, music, inflatables, a petting zoo and fireworks. It requires a $5 donation for parking and is set in an alcohol/smoke-free environment.
